Just realize that I’m basically joking. I don’t have all the answers. The answers are within you, Mama! Nobody knows your child better than you do, and certainly not a random internet stranger. I think you should fill out my parenting advice request form anyway. Here’s why.
It will be funny. I probably won’t be super helpful, but I will do my best to make you laugh. After all, some days, being able to laugh at a ridiculous parenting situation goes a long way.
I always find that when I read other people’s parenting advice, I gain a lot of different ideas and it gets my brain juices flowing. Often I disregard what I read. But even when I don’t use a specific strategy, it gets me thinking about my problem in a different way.
Reading about other people’s parenting problems helps me remember that my kid is just a normal little friend, doing normal things, and that can be helpful.
Finally, something about deciding to solve a problem, and researching it makes me more confident that I CAN do this on my own. That’s much better than refusing to confront the problem, continuing to holler at your kiddo and doing the same things over and over again that haven’t worked yet. I’m preaching to myself on this one, so don’t be all sensitive.
